Holley EFI Makes History

The opening weekend of the 2016 NHRA season was a historic one. The Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California has been hosting the NHRA Winternationals since 1961 and has seen more than its fair share of memorable races and legendary drivers. In 2016, Pomona became the home to yet another piece of NHRA history as the Pro Stock Class attacked the quarter mile while equipped with electronic fuel injection for the first time in the history of the class! Read on to see how Holley EFI performed!

Well Known Baja 1,000 Team Puts HydraMat Through Its Paces

Holley's People News

You guys and gals may remember my car from when I first took the reins from Liz Miles on this newsletter. After some setbacks, the 2001 Trans Am finally made it back on the rollers with some upgraded parts. Instead of utilizing a stock ECU with separate control boxes for boost control, ignition retard, and two-step control, a Holley Dominator ECU controls all of that and much more, including a Holley Digital Dash which allows easy monitoring of a multitude of parameters. Also gone is the old fuel pump, which tapped out at 825 horsepower thanks to the volume demanded by the E98 fuel now being used. We decided to send the guys at Dynosty a protoype of our Brushless Ultra Dominator fuel pump to pressurize the Earl's Performance Plumbing fuel system, which supports up to 4,800 horsepower depending on the type of fuel used and the application. We also installed a Holley 4150 throttle body to allow it to digest the 20 psi of pressure being delivered by the turbo while also helping to distribute that air evenly between all eight cylinders. 

With all of that in place, we leaned on the 1300 cc/min injectors as hard as we could, and they took us to 1,038 rear wheel horsepower on E98 fuel at 20 psi!
